Coaching began about 20 years ago when CEOs of major corporations began
to work with their business consultants in a new way. The CEO and consultant
would meet to develop the leadership skills of the CEO and soon discovered that
not only did coaching improve their leadership skills, it also benefited the
bottom line of the company. This boosted the value of coaching as a new
profession.
Over the past 10 years, coaching has
grown in popularity with the general public as well. It is now well established
both as a means of personal self-improvement and as a way to improve small
businesses. Many coaches are certified by an international association for
coaches.
Coaching Youth
is extending the profession to coaching children and youth. Our coaches are
particularly interested in building the body of knowledge on coaching children
and youth
